A few weeks ago Lil B made headlines after announcing that he was going to try out for the NBA as apart of the Golden State Warriors, and while some people had their doubts that the Based God would keep true to his word, today we bring you the evidence to support that he did – somewhat. While it wasn’t tryouts for the Golden State Warriors, Lil B did find himself on the court showcasing his talent for the D-League’s Santa Cruz Warriors on Sunday. After first giving fans a glimpse at his signature crossover and lay-up during his video for “Warm Ups,” off his Based Jam mixtape, Lil B shared that he considered himself as one of the “top point-guards on the West Coast.” Taking to Twitter during and shortly after his tryout, The Based God had the following to say:
At the NBA Warriors tryouts right now just did a interview for the news, love to the whole Golden State Warriors staff I love ya’ll. It’s crazy cuz I thought coach wud be playing me as the 1 at NBA try outs today, but he wanted me at the 2, today was #BASED history.
Local news station KSBW caught with Lil B, whose real name is Brandon McCartney, for a brief interview, which you can check out up above. The D-League most notably gave fame to now Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin – do you see a similar story laying out for Lil B? Let us know your thoughts down below.
