theNextdoor is a purveyor of fine menswear and accessories hailing from Avignon, France. For Fall/Winter 2012, the atelier partnered with American shirtmaker Gitman Vintage for a capsule collection of exclusive garments as well as a short film directed by Romain Quirot. The feature was inspired by the French New Wave movement in cinema — an era best known for the iconic work of Jean-Luc Godard — and contains a genre-specific cast of villains and one sultry siren. Most importantly, the film serves as a showcase for the new collection of three shirts, including one flecked Japanese fabric piece exclusive to the collaboration. The shirt features Gitman Vintage’s signature construction and quality along with subtle tweaks by the retailer — a tone on tone elbow pad, new button-down collar, beveled edged cuffs and slightly tightened fit. As the film suggests, it just might be a shirt worth killing for. Look for theNextdoor x Gitman Vintage Capsule Collection to release soon in-store and online.
