Designed by British designer Jasper Morrison of the Switzerland-based Punkt Group, the AC 01 is a simple clock that fully realizes that functionality outweighs decadence when it comes to timepieces for the home and office. With a red dial and white case meant to resemble the Japanese flag, all proceeds from the sales are going to help rebuild the coastal fishing village of Maeami. The 500 individually-numbered AC 01 clocks are for sale at select stores worldwide for $246 USD, a price meant to commemorate the exact time the tsunami struck – 2:46 a.m. local time on March 11, 2011.
