Originally founded in 2003 by a group of intrepid Silicon Valley engineers, Tesla has set out to prove that electric vehicles can be awesome. Its signature Model S hit the streets back in 2008 as a car with no equal. Just a few short years later, over 1,650 Roadsters drive emissions-free in more than 31 countries.
