Following the tragic passing of her cousin earlier this week, Nicki Minaj decided to let loose an older recording which finds her mourning over a lost loved one. Definitely another facet of Young Money’s First Lady. We certainly appreciate this. Stream below!
UPDATE: Responding to the appearance of the previously recorded track, Nicki Minaj took this things to Twitter in order to insist that the song not about her dead cousin.
“[Though] the lyrics of ‘We Miss You’ eerily depict the circumstances surrounding my cousin’s death, I wrote & recorded that song on 5/24/2010. It was sent to Mariah Carey & Keyshia Cole over a year ago for a possible feature. It didn’t make ‘Pink Friday’ due to clearance issues.”
