SoundWorks Collection presents The Sound of Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon

It goes without saying that director Michael Bay’s latest action flick, Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon, will likely go down in history as one of the most visually exciting films of our time. Behind all of the action sequences and special effects, however, was a team of talented men who were dedicated to producing the sounds that complimented these visuals and brought the movie to life. Under Bay’s direction, the sound team spent countless hours in the studio and in the field, mixing, recording and even creating sounds that matched up flawlessly with the film reels. Using techniques that ranged from allowing metals to resonate on dry ice to shooting machine guns and delta rockets under the supervision of armed military escorts, the sound team was able to create a bold and dynamic mix of organic and synthetic sounds that helped complete the blockbuster film.
