Legitmix is a new service that enables musicians to legally sample music from other sources and sell it sans the sample-clearing process. Thus, you are able to recreate an artist’s DJ set or remix or whatever on your own computer. Renowned producer Diplo has received the honors to introduce Legimitix to the world.
As its first release, Legitmix is selling Diplo’s new 40-minute, entitled “Mad Legit.” The price for the piece is comprised of $3 plus the cost of the 14 copyrighted tracks that the mix uses. It boasts nine exclusive remixes, including a Rusko reworking of 2Pac’s “California Love” and a Mad Decent dubstep remix of Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now.” The first 1,500 people that intend to buy this, Legitmix is giving away the mashup at this site. Above you can find a short viral that explains the usage of Legitmix, while below you can preview Mad Legit.
