The inspiration for Vane’s interior design was a “Dark Forest” theme, and considering the shop’s ominous floor-to-ceiling dead-tree wall imagery as well as the assortment of found objects, tools and vintage books scattered throughout the space, they’ve achieved their haunted wilderness aesthetic to perfection. Aiming for a mysterious atmosphere of constant discovery, the designers placed products for sale in custom military cases featuring wood and glass display boxes with industrial wool inlays, while a matte black tailor-made archival shelving and closet system holds inventory. Located on Rivington Street between Essex and Norfolk, in the heart of Manhattan’s decidedly hip Lower East Side, Vane’s latest “Pop-Up” concept store is definitely worth checking out for fans of fashion and retail design alike. Vane is open now through August 30 from 12pm to 10pm during the week and 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends in a clear nod to the more unconventional schedules of the neighborhood’s creative community.
