The last time a hip-hop artist was featured on MTV’s renowned live performance series, Unplugged, was 2001, but the folks over there at Music Television decided to end that streak this year. Lil Wayne signed up as the chosen rapper for the job, and after previews of his performance hit the ‘net all last week, the full thing finally aired Sunday night. Watch above as Wayne glides through over 40 minutes of his extensive catalog, performing singles from Tha Carter II, including “Hustler Musik” and “Fireman,” fan favorites from Tha Carter III, including “Mr. Carter” and “Shoot Me Down,” and tracks from his upcoming Tha Carter IV, including “How To Love” and the never-before-heard “Nightmares of the Bottom.”
