Teachers - IPO

The 5-piece band primarily based in New York started to gain some steam last year after a demo of the song “Gold” made its way into Kanye West’s hands. After the chance listen, Kanye invited Ben out to Hawaii to join in on the sessions that eventually became My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. His keyboard playing, vocal samples and additional production were lent to one of the album’s biggest tracks, “Monster.” The song became the key inspiration behind IPO (Initial Public Offering). Teachers’ debut release boasts five reinterpretations of the Kanye West single. “Monster” serves as a Trojan horse to display the band’s sound and style. IPO continues to do the same to the sounds of The Very Best, DJ Spoko, Pariah, JOAAN, Burial and others as the band carefully adds to each track arranging parts, adding guitars, drums, synths and bass with Ben laying vocals down on top of the newfound reinterpretation.
