MTV Unplugged: Lykke Li

Lykke Li has seen success in making an off-center indie-pop song or two, but it’s her solemn, captivating voice that really sets her apart from the crowd. And while her production is usually far above average, there’s no better way to showcase vocal ability than to strip songs down into their simplest form. That’s a practice that MTV Unplugged has become known for over the past 20 years, as it has provided a venue for such artists as Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton and Nirvana to perform acoustic versions of their songs in front of a television audience. For the newest installment of the legendary performance series, MTV brought 25-year-old Li on stage to perform seven songs, all of which can be found on her recently released sophomore album, Wounded Rhymes.
