Marc McKee got his start making skateboard graphics back in 1989 when he began working for World Industries and its subsidiaries, which included Blind, 101, Menace, Almost and A-Team. During the golden age of skateboard art, McKee spearheaded many projects that became hugely popular then and still are today. An exhibition at Los Angeles’ HVW8 Art + Design Gallery will consist of a selection of some of McKee’s personal favorites from over the past 20 years, including old classic decks, new limited edition prints and never-before-seen original drawings and paintings. In addition, the exhibition will also mark the release for McKee’s new book, The Art of Marc McKee, which is the first installment of the “Seen Unknown” series edited by Winston Tseng.
