Hublot’s Pastel Ceramic Collection Is Ready to Up Your Summer Wrist Game
A Malibu sunset soirée sets the stage for the watchmaker’s new multi-colored lineup, and Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes weighs in on how he’s channelling Big Bang energy on and off the field.
Hublot, once again, is ushering in the warm months with a Big Bang — the Big Bang Summer collection, that is. Since debuting the annual lineup in 2017, the Maison has kept up its seasonal winning streak, pairing high horology with a beach-ready feel. The ninth Hublot summer is going all in on pastel ceramic, and the result? A lineup equally ready for the boat and collector’s vault.
To mark the launch, the Swiss watchmaker hosted an exclusive party at Villa DUME last month. And is there a more fitting place to put the new collection in motion than the iconic Malibu mansion?
Behind the famed estate, the coastline wore a golden-hour glow. Guests delighted in a rotation of hors d’oeuvres, fresh oysters, and bespoke cocktails hovering around the space, and later in a healthy dose of friendly competition, as lawn games activated around the pool and collection display. It struck the perfect balance between luxury and laid-back.
Quite the crew turned out for the evening: Ari Lennox, Braden Cook, and Jack Martin could be spotted in the poolside gardens, alongside Dylan Sprouse, Barbara Palvin-Sprouse, and Patrick Mahomes. Many of whom took inspiration from the vibrant lineup, donning pieces that reflected the Big Bang color story.
“A Malibu sunset is tough to beat,” Mahomes told Hypebeast, himself styled in a breezy pastel pairing, from shoes to watch. “But the West Texas skies are nice, too.” He laughed. “I gotta plead the fifth on that one.”
The Kansas City Chiefs QB first joined forces with Hublot back in September as a brand ambassador. And as powerhouses in their respective fields, the pairing makes perfect sense. Precision, performance, and confidence define Mahomes’ on-field stride, just as they’ve become hallmarks of Hublot’s signature craftsmanship.
As for the collection itself, the 2026 Big Bang embraces the Maison’s “Art of Fusion” philosophy, this time with a softer edge. Its new multi-colored ceramic models — a blend of mint green, baby pink, and sky-blue — are crown jewels here, in 42mm Unico Manufacture flyback chronograph and 44mm tourbillon-powered variants. Elsewhere, the 42mm Big Bang Titanium Peach Ceramic brings a sun-kissed warmth to one of the brand’s most beloved silhouettes.
Hublot has never been one to shy away from color, and while it’s often associated with its bold statements, this year’s palette introduces a more pastel expression without sacrificing the presence that has defined the Big Bang since day one.
So with this shift, what better way to ring in this lineup than an evening of easygoing California cool? Taking a day to slow down and reconnect before the moment escapes you. For Mahomes, that looks like being a team player on and off the field, spending time with teammates away, planning family vacations, or, as he puts it, “standing in the back and letting [his] kids just enjoy life.”
Summer, of course, never lasts forever, but, as Hublot suggests, that free-and-easy spirit is a mentality we can carry with us. And Mahomes is doing much the same. Even when training camp calls, the Chiefs star is taking in the quiet moments that come with the offseason to recharge: “I’m always ready to go and play when training comes around, but mentally, the biggest thing is getting time with the kids because I know it’s going to be a long season,” he expressed. “I love football, so eventually I’ll get back out there and try to win another Super Bowl.”
