Designer Naoto Fukasawa has released a series of hats that are made entirely out of traditional Japanese washi-paper. The collection features three pieces, titled “Ivy cap”, “Hat”, and “Tyrolean hat”, which are constructed from a new type of paper called “naoron”, which withstands both moisture and weight, resulting in a lightweight, durable material that does not tear easily. The paper has a very similar look to weathered leather in its crumpled texture, and by no means would anyone expect that the hats were constructed from it.
