Fricote represents a new food magazine venture from Julien Pham who’s previous exploits include SHOES-UP magazine and L’Imprimerie Gallery. The name Fricot is an old French world representing “cook”. Themed as a magazine targeting the city slickers around the world, it’s without a doubt that food has become a massive culture over the last few years. Many proudly snap away images of what they had to eat and wear the badge of a “foodie” with pride. The debut issue includes features on Theophilus London and roti, Kim Chapiron on Vietnamese/African fusion and VERBAL and his mother’s kimchi. In addition, the magazine also includes other lifestyle elements such as music, cinema, TV, graphic design, art and of course cuisine & street food. The magazine will launch with a special event at colette on December 10th with retailers for the time being including colette, Artoyz and The Lazy Dog.
