Magnum Photos is back with another Square Print Sale, this time looking at the blurry relationship between fact and fiction. Titled “Fact/Fiction,” the sale brings together more than 70 photographs that show how the camera can capture reality while also making us question what we’re seeing.
The lineup includes works by Martin Parr, Chris Killip, Bruce Davidson, Susan Meiselas and Cristina De Middel, among others. Some images capture everyday moments that feel almost staged, while others take a more deliberate approach to storytelling. It’s a reminder that even a photograph taken in the moment can leave plenty of room for interpretation.
The theme also raises questions about how we look at photography today, especially when images can be so easily manipulated and taken out of context. Rather than offering a clear answer, “Fact/Fiction” leaves viewers to decide what’s believable and what isn’t.
Running from October 26 through November 1, the sale features signed or estate-stamped, museum-quality 6 x 6-inch prints starting at $110 USD. For the first time, select photographs will also be offered in a larger 9 x 9-inch format.
