Finding inspiration in the colors of the Japanese National Flag as well as the LIVESTRONG Campaign, famed Japanese cyclist Hal introduces his own colorway in the cyclist-centric Nike Air Zoom Tiempo model. The sneakers will be offered as a Japan exclusive with the only retailer in the US carrying a limited run being Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer. A release is scheduled for June 20th, 2009, while a brief Hal bio can be seen below.

Seven years ago, Hal saw his first fixed gear bicycle. Only a few people on the streets of Tokyo were riding this type of bike, but he was captivated by its simplicity. At a swap meet, he was drawn to buy a fixie, despite not knowing how to skid or even how to slow down. Hal’s love affair with fixed bikes started on this day. Beginning as a bicycle messenger in Tokyo seven years ago, Hal earned his stripes on the road. After he and his friends put in a few years in the business, they began their own messenger company called Transmit. They are hardcore, and are now one of the best in Japan. Hal is a proud cyclist. He loves his job as a messenger, and on the side he works as a mechanic for fixed gear bicycles. Organizing alley-cat races and bike events in Tokyo and other parts of Japan is also a passion of his. Hal will ride fixed forever.
