While Japanese produced denim has become somewhat of the focal point of the whole denim movement, Raleigh Denim founded by Sarah and Victor Lytvinenko looked close to home for the sourcing of their denim brand. With Cone Denim Mills right in their backyard of Raleigh, North Carolina, the couple would have access to denim from one of America’s premier mills, allowing them to create jeans themselves, by hand. This and a great attention to detail looks to be the perfect equation. Their denim features a sulfur wash resulting in a greenish hue when worn extensively. The lightweight selvedge denim also features slanted pockets. Unfortunately, the particular denim utilized for their jeans has been discontinued with accounts such as Barneys NYC and LA carrying their fall selection exclusively (suggested retail price, $275 USD). The Lytvinekos are hoping to garner enough support so that Cone Denim Mills could once again produce the denim.
