The larger-than-life football personality John Madden has occupied many facets of the game including player, coach and commentator for the last 50 years. His recognizable stature led him to become the face of one of video game’s great sports franchises Madden NFL, created in conjunction with EA Sports. For the 20th anniversary, Gabriel Urist was called upon to create a limited run of 30 helmet pendants, coinciding with the recently completed Super Bowl XLIII (43). The pendants took on some interesting characteristics such as a larger than usual size. With an increased size, the pendants would look more natural on the towering physiques of the NFL’s finest. Little details on a helmet were not overlooked including chin straps and rivets on the facemask. The 2.5 inch helmet also featured a hand-polished rare metal rhodium composition and special mahogany box.
