As a game largely considered at the forefront of the explosion of the video game industry, Space Invaders and its Japanese impact went so far as to cause a temporary shortage of 100 yen coins during the height of its popularity. Space Invaders celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2008 as it aligns itself with select brands to create a series of products with atmos among the select few chosen.
