Alpha Industries 2008 Spring/Summer Collection

For Alpha Industries, they are as legit of a brand as they come. In 1959 the United States Department of Defense recruited Alpha to redesign their military jackets. The new jet age was an era in which pilots were now soaring to greater heights and dearly in need of technical apparel to keep up with their flights. This was coupled with new terrain faced by infantry. The bottom line was Alpha was able to re-engineer technical apparel for the armed forces which increased comfort, performance and reliability. From the realm of the military, Alpha has also added collections of jackets for civilian use, successfully incorporating a legacy of innovation with contemporary styling. Three jackets seen here include the Hawk, McGyver and Mod Squad. A list of dealers for this collection can be seen here. Image: HYPEBEAST

Nike Lebron V Yankees

Through five generations of Lebron’s signature sneaker, China, cereal and high school colors were some of the inspirations behind various colorways. However a new upcoming Lebron V looks to the diamond and baseball’s most storied franchise, the New York Yankees. The famous pinstripes of the Yanks make up the upper of this Lebron V with a series of highlighting characteristics such as patent toebox and a series of messages along the side reading “Fresh for ‘08. Suckers” and the crowd favorite player chant “Le-bron…Ja-mes…clap clap clap clap clap” on the lining. No word yet on availability. Info/Image: Kix and the City

The Wreck Center

The Wreck Center

Something touched upon previously in an interview with A-Ron (formerly of aNYthing) by Heron Preston was a new space in Soho dedicated to a wealth of different activities. The 5,800 square foot Wreck Center will serve as a storefront, area for performances, art gallery and straight up place to chill out. The space will only be around until the end of February when the wrecking ball comes through to tear the place down. Until then, if you’re cool enough, A-ron will be in contact with an invite.
