The Wreck Center

The Wreck Center

Something touched upon previously in an interview with A-Ron (formerly of aNYthing) by Heron Preston was a new space in Soho dedicated to a wealth of different activities. The 5,800 square foot Wreck Center will serve as a storefront, area for performances, art gallery and straight up place to chill out. The space will only be around until the end of February when the wrecking ball comes through to tear the place down. Until then, if you’re cool enough, A-ron will be in contact with an invite. Nike Considered

Nike Considered

Back in 2003, a small group of rogue individuals felt the need to create a special ops team with a greener approach to sneaker construction. It’s no doubt that their feelings expressed upon the creation of the Considered team back in 2003 would echo sentiments breaking airwaves in alarming frequency these days regarding green methods of production in the market place. They set forth some guidelines in which each piece of Considered footwear must follow such as the necessity to use recyclable materials in production, no uses of toxic materials, using mechanics and engineering as opposed to chemical solutions and lastly closed loop technology (meaning the sneaker can be remade into another sneaker without going to waste). Among the individuals holding a role within the Considered team was Jeff Staple who offered a creative timeline for their collection ultimately culminating with the production of the (Considered) Air Jordan XX3.

New Balance Made in England M576UK NG

The 20th Anniversary of the fabled 576 from New Balance will see an influx of new commemorative sneakers releasing. Among the first releases is the M576UK NG, a throwback to the beginnings of the 576 with a simple blue on blue colorway with mesh toebox. Quality can be ensured with the Made in England tag. However, the bits of yellowed plastic on the heel cap (and any pre-distressing for that matter) is something we’d rather do without. Available early next month. Image: Mita

adidas Originals Denim for Male by Diesel

adidas Originals Denim for Male by Diesel

Last week saw the debut of an upcoming adidas Originals Denim for Female by Diesel collection. Here’s the flip side of the story with the men’s releases seen here. Branding much like the womens collection is subtle and unassuming with elements of the 3-stripes seen on the inseam and hips. An adidas Trefoil can be seen occupying a position often reserved for leather patches on the back. The adi-Thanaz is available in Dirty Medium Treated, Raw and Super Black while the adi-Viker is available in Dark Blue Treated, Dirty Medium Treated and Raw. Info/Image: adiFans

Coarsetoys 1:3 "Flake" Figure - Pain Edition

Coarsetoys 1:3 "Flake" Figure - Pain Edition

Back in December, Coarsetoys released a 1:3 Butchers Block Berlin Edition for the opening of the Vans store in Berlin. The figure was much sought after but was only available at the Vans store. Luckily, those looking for this figure might have another stab at getting it. This upcoming release dubbed “Flake” Pain Edition will site 25 inches tall and will come in a wooden box. We’re guessing that these will be quite limited as you can only get this figure at the Vans stores in London, Berlin, Paris, Barcelona and Utrecht. Collectors from the States will also be able to get one at Rotofugi and MunkyKing. “Flake” will retail for $320 USD and will be released near the end of January. Image: Crazytoyz 0709

SheOne x Addict x Vans SK8-Hi

Vans has teamed up with the artist SheOne and brand Addict for a very beautiful collaboration sneaker. Using the Vans SK8-Hi model as the canvas, SheOne has amazingly turned a normal skate shoe into a piece of artwork. The colorway choice for this shoe is great as well. Even though a eye catching red is used, this shoe remains very elegant and most importantly, wearable. Hopefully we’ll have more information soon but we’re definitely looking forward to this release.
