The Wreck Center

Something touched upon previously in an interview with A-Ron (formerly of aNYthing) by Heron Preston was a new space in Soho dedicated to a wealth of different activities. The 5,800 square foot Wreck Center will serve as a storefront, area for performances, art gallery and straight up place to chill out. The space will only be around until the end of February when the wrecking ball comes through to tear the place down. Until then, if you’re cool enough, A-ron will be in contact with an invite. Nike Considered

Back in 2003, a small group of rogue individuals felt the need to create a special ops team with a greener approach to sneaker construction. It’s no doubt that their feelings expressed upon the creation of the Considered team back in 2003 would echo sentiments breaking airwaves in alarming frequency these days regarding green methods of production in the market place. They set forth some guidelines in which each piece of Considered footwear must follow such as the necessity to use recyclable materials in production, no uses of toxic materials, using mechanics and engineering as opposed to chemical solutions and lastly closed loop technology (meaning the sneaker can be remade into another sneaker without going to waste). Among the individuals holding a role within the Considered team was Jeff Staple who offered a creative timeline for their collection ultimately culminating with the production of the (Considered) Air Jordan XX3.

SheOne x Addict x Vans SK8-Hi

Vans has teamed up with the artist SheOne and brand Addict for a very beautiful collaboration sneaker. Using the Vans SK8-Hi model as the canvas, SheOne has amazingly turned a normal skate shoe into a piece of artwork. The colorway choice for this shoe is great as well. Even though a eye catching red is used, this shoe remains very elegant and most importantly, wearable. Hopefully we’ll have more information soon but we’re definitely looking forward to this release.
