Neck Face Video Interview at VBS.TV

The artist Neckface has always been a man of mystery. No one knows what he looks like and he rarely does any interviews. Patrick O’Dell’s Epicly Later’d recently had a chance to ask the man himself about his life and his inspirations as an artist. The interview is definitely something to watch if you want to know more about this mysterious artist. Check out this and more at VBS.TV.

Hyde Sacha Knight for Stussy

Hyde Sacha Knight for Stussy

Hyde SK (Hyde Sacha Knight) has recently created a collection of new products for Stussy. Included in these line up include a hoodie, handbags, and a wallet. Hyde SK’s has previously been known for her line of handmade leather goods as well as creating hand made bags for Paul Smith’s men’s show in Paris. Her works frequently result in large line ups in Japan where her items have reached a highly collectible status. Sacha notes that many of her inspirations are derived from Native American Culture, particularly Shamanism. Her interests include Skulls, Vietnam camouflage, Classic American Bands, Tim Burton, Gothic Art, Hell’s Angels, Pirates, Aubrey Beardsley, The Occult, Nature, Old buildings, and Wide Open Spaces. Hyde SK’s personal feelings regarding her design have “… a twisted American Indian feel (hand-finishing, beadwork and raw natural edges) with hints of the ‘classic’ (soft/simple silhouettes) and then a dusting of hippy 70’s America (unusual juxtaposed colour combinations, braiding and tassels)”. As you examine this collection, without a doubt you can see some eerie feelings with the use of skulls, spiderwebs. As well the tassels induce a distinctly Native American feel. As more and more women’s independent labels arise, through the strength and design of influential designers such as Hyde SK, women’s “streetwear” is setting themselves up for a glorious future. Women’s streetwear may choose to follow it’s own path as opposed to the one set forth and beaten by the male segment.

Air Jordan Spiz'ike - White/Grey/Fire Red

Air Jordan Spiz'ike - White/Grey/Fire Red

Not many sneakers that Michael Jordan HASN’T worn on the court has escalated to the same success as the Air Jordan Spiz’ike (and the B’Loyal which is huge on the selling charts). But as long as they continue to sell, Jordan Brand will give the people what they want. It seems as though there has been a progression in colorways. Originally, many differing opinions existed with the white/red/green colorway, but slowly but surely each colorway has gotten progressively better reviews, and I don’t think these are any exception. Original Fake Cat Teeth Bank by KAWS

Here are two new colors (blue and yellow) for the Original Fake Cat Teeth Bank designed by artist KAWS. The first set of Cat Teeth Banks which was released approximately a month ago came in the colors black and green. These piggy banks produced by Medicom Toy will be approximately 5 inches in diameter. The previous sets were limited to 400 pieces for each color so we think these will be limited to around that many pieces as well. Keep a tab on Kawsone for any updates on this new piggy bank. Adidas Y-3 2007 Spring/Summer Collection

Adidas Y-3 2007 Spring/Summer Collection

The latest from the ongoing partnership between Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto represents yet another shining example of the Japanese designer’s brilliance and creativity. Continuing the formula of fusion fashion and opting for a looser, more relaxed fit, this season’s collection combines trend-pushing style statements with the sporting philosophy of the 3-Striped brand. Purple metallics punctuate the monochromatic palette that forms the basis of the collection, while silver and white make a heavy presence on footwear and accessories, along with the signature Y-3 marquee prominently emblazoned across all walks and fabrics. The collection is now available at Y-3 stores worldwide, and you can see more on the Adidas Y-3 Website in the form of a virtual fashion show. Info: Mash Kulture
