Largely considered by many to be the world’s greatest Trance DJ, Tiësto is the latest artist to partake in RBK’s DJ Collection of footwear. Tiësto holds an impressive resume which includes accolades such as playing the first solo DJ concert in the world, playing at the 2004 Athens Olympics and a 3 year consecutive run as "Best DJ in the World". This sneaker will be the official footwear of choice during Tiësto’s Elements of Life Tour (which also boasts an album by the same name).
Unlike previous RBK DJ Collection releases, the Tiësto model will be individually numbered between 0001-1000. The design itself incorporates a 3M upper with various references to Tiësto and his tour. Each package will also include a special CD including tracks from the Elements of Life album. Within the Netherlands, these shoes will be sold exclusively at Subzero, Front Runner and www.Tiësto.com with a price tag of €120 Euro (approximately $176 USD).

In a wealth of New York city brand emerges one brand by the name of Vane. Behind the work of Ravi Thanawala, Eric poon and Atif Ateeq; They have set forth a goal of creating new and interesting silhouettes which undoubtedly provide a sense of inspiration and creativity which go hand in hand with their 100% New York produced garments. Every aspect of their work is done in New York, from the fabric and trim sourcing, to the care labels and hangtags. Despite a more unorthodox approach to some of their designs, each was conceptualized with a certain goal in mind.
The 07/08 Pre-Spring Collection is highlighted by a range of tops and button-up hoodies. These include the Risky Business Button Down Hoodie, the Manolito Pullover and UndiVided Hoodie. As touched upon previously, each piece had a certain goal to achieve. The Risky Business was created to blur the lines of a casual garment and that of a more sophisticated and higher-end jacket. The Manolito turned the old-fashioned crew-neck into a more fashion forward pullover and the UndiVided was meant as a reinspiration on the hoody which yielded a better fit regardless of the situation. Other pieces include the Prophecy T-shirt which utilizes reflective 3M prints. The whole Vane aesthetic is based around seamless transition, from the easy going atmosphere of a coffee shop to the bright lights and sounds of a night out, Vane has created a garment suitable for all occasions.
Some pieces are currently available in Vane’s online shop while a further release will be available some the following New York City locations, Brooklyn Circus, Caravan, Reed Space, and Union.
Since its inception, much of Mishka’s success was derived from their off-base designs which inevitably filled a big void in the market. While many brands share similar inspirations, the inspirations of Mishka to create their very own look and feel ultimately created a large following. Continually pushing the envelope comes their 2007 Holiday Collection. Some of the pieces here include the Whorde shirt, Alexei Raw Black Selvage denim, M.U.S.C.L.E. hoodie and Gristle windbreaker. Two New Era Fitted Caps are also part of the Holiday drop. An official list of stores stocking Mishka can be seen here. If you’re in the New York area, check out the Mishka Pop-Up Shop.
