Do you guys think that the way we act is predetermined by the way we are born or that it is a direct rest of the environment we were brought up in? I'm a strong believer in nurture, I believe that the environment we are born into and that the people who raise us/ the media we encounter as young infants shape what we will become in the future. What do you think?

environment has a lot to do with how we were brought up. The media, the people, they are part of our environment.

There was actually a study out there that said we don't really do any thing by ourselves, but that our brains have already decided the course our lives will take. Plus what about psychopaths? There was a study saying they were born with psychopathic traits, so I'd the development of those traits going to come the nurture or nature? Same with autism or aspergers and adhd. Are they really diseases or just the result of our environment.

theres also a lot of studies on twins separated a birth that gives some evidence that nature might decide more than you think. still though mostly nurture

i dont think you can really untangle the two and talk about whats more important. nurture can only work within the limits provided by nature (your genes).

I think it's a mixture of both. More Nurture than Nature. About 60/40.

Nurture plays a great role in who we are by how our parents and society raises us, but after your youth nurture becomes nature. So its actually the nature of nurture. Can't really escape nurture unless youre
