People's expectations are too high, especially those who are new and haven't really experienced the bf series.

BF isn't a game that caters to everyone especially if they're new. By the comments I've read on various BF topics/videos a considerable amount of individuals believe they're going to jump in, fly a jet like it's fucking ace combat, and annihilate everyone on the map.

There are many aspects people need to get used to in bf such as strategy, vehicles, teamwork, physics, ranking system, and pure skill which most don't have the patience for. I remember when I first started playing I got ass raped to no end then finally got the hang of it around level 20 maybe 25, opposed to a game like COD where I jumped in and played like I was a fucking vet on the first day.

I predict BF3 will have a good run but come MW3 release bf3 servers will lose a quarter of it's players.

I could be very wrong. Eh, time will tell.

youve got a point. to be honest though, anyone who has been with BF since at lease BFBC2(myself actually) will know that BF3 simply needs to play better and be a better overall game. judging by the Alpha footage, it looks right on the money.

as for the newbies, your absolutely right. people dont understand how hard it is to adapt to the skill set and learn to fly, etc. BUT those are the people who give up and play like its COD, and dont adapt to a different game, so that backlash will always be there. but its better for us who enjoy the game and the different skill sets to not be playing with them.

with any game, you're gonna have the people who reject the game and backlash at the community. every COD game basically has had this same effect. cant please everyone.

but for those of us who still enjoy playing BFBC2, BF3 is sure to please. you're right about the 25% going to MW3 aswell, and i would actually say that percentage is gonna be higher. but thats fine. and for most, (the ones who UNDERSTAND BF3), wont forget the game. its alright to switch over to MW3 (of course people are, its a new release). but to alienate yourself from a perfectly good game when you have both is ridiculous. enjoy both aspects.

Yeah, bc2 was a great game, I put a shit load of hours into it. I don't expect anything but epic from bf3.

Extended Caspian Border footage.

I can't wait for this, I've played BFBC2 quite a bit on PS3 and still enjoy playing it, despite the gameplay issues it has.

One of advantages PC gamers have had over consoles was the ability to pick and choose the multiplayer servers they played on. Now EA has confirmed that the server browser feature will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Battlefield 3. This makes Battlefield 3 one of the few multiplayer games on consoles that offers a server browser, where players are given more choice in terms of where to play, what maps to play on, game settings, game modes, and much more.

A server browser for consoles was a requested feature from many Battlefield fans, and it finally looks like consoles will be getting some more love from DICE. Hopefully we’ll see more PC features added to consoles, like the recently announced Commo Rose communications interface.

if this is true, then hopefully it will allow for auto team balance to be implemented on console. that was one thing that always annoyed me; i'd spawn into a conquest map and it would be 4 vs 12 and we'd be spawn trapped already.

i'm the best mayne, i deed it

makes sense.

and just like the argument i had for LA Noire, what is the big deal of having to get up ONCE/TWICE to put a new disc in your console? i mean, im lazy, but really?

and anyone will tell you they'll take a multi-disc game over one disc with hindered graphics any day of the week.

Might be 2 discs on 360

smh

and if nikkas played RV6, BF3 will be a piece of cake to rape other nikkas.

Which is why I'm done with the COD series.

pretty sure the ps3 version won't have hindered graphics - given it's the console version they've been showing off recently

i think you misunderstood my post. what i meant by that is if they have to take this game, that big as fuck and has absurd graphics, they're gonna keep that shit for the game and just put it on 2 discs. - instead of dumbing down the game to try to fit it on one disc.

thats what i meant. anyone will tell you they'd rather have better graphics (on two discs) than hindered graphics (on one disc)

^ nah that point is moot and is an argument that will never get anywhere. especially when it comes to multi-disc. xbox owners cant help it that sony owns blueray. doesnt really make much of a difference IMO
