My name is Boney Starks, some of you may know me from Niketalk as MyTsharp, other people may not know me at all. I had to spend an hour finding 25 posts to type in, just so I can post this thread.

I've been trying to break into professional photography for the past year and a half and specialize in event photography and I LOVE being involved in hip hop/musical photographs.

Anywho, here is some of my work and there is more in my flickr page in my sig. Just trying to promote my work and "get up" that's all.

Enjoy.

not true..i know many successful photographers that don't apply the rule of thirds.

i know many successful photographers that don't even follow ANY rules

centering your subjects works when it works..sometimes it doesnt. its all about whose eye is in the viewfinder.

Yeah I thank the words of encouragement and criticism.

However I think the ROT isn't applicable to everyone, especially if you develop something that is unique and also dope composition wise. I don't always go by the rules and that's what I like about the photos.

Hell with so many "photographers" out here now with high end DSLRs and no experience that are shooting on auto, I think alot of rules are being thrown out of the window.

Yeah I generally don't like alot of noise in my pictures but I was aiming for a grittier look.

As far as cameras I use a D90 and a Digital Rebel. A long lens, 70-200 ƒ4 and a Sigma 10-20 ƒ4-5, then I have the 35 mm ƒ2 and I had the nifty fifty but it was dropped. The 5D mkii is on deck, looking to scoop a 16-35mm 2.8L and a 70-200 2.8L with the IS.

Thanks for the input all.
