With Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse official release slowly creeping up, more new music from the movie soundtrack is being released, the latest being “What’s Up Danger” by New York City-based rapper Blackway & DJ duo Black Caviar. The Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack is set to be released by Republic Records, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment on Dec. 14, the same day as the nationwide theatrical release of the film.

“Being presented with the opportunity to be a part of this project is probably the coolest thing that has ever happened to me, and ‘What’s up Danger’ is the product of me being able to work with creative minds like Jared Piccone and Troy Hinson of Black Caviar,” Blackway explains to HYPEBEAST about how the record began to develop. “The production behind the record is so intense and full of the perfect kind of energy for the film.”

Black Caviar adds, “When the opportunity to write a song for the new Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse film came up, our 10-year-old selves were freaking out. We got connected to Blackway and on day one in the studio, he laid down the [wildest], tense, aggressive lyrics we could’ve imagined… and the song was born.”

The new trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was released earlier this month. The animated feature from Phil Lord and Chris Miller unites Peter Parker and Miles Morales with several other “spider people” throughout multiple universes.
