Blends Teases Its Latest "Bones" Collab With Vans
The SoCal imprint brings its signature motif to the Sk8-Hi Decon LX.
Back in 2013, SoCal’s Blends celebrated its 10-year anniversary with what has gone down as one of the best Vans collabs of all-time: the “Bones” rendition of the Sk8-Hi Zip LX from Vans’ Vault imprint. In the years since, the Los Angeles-based boutique has applied the customized Jazz Stripe to red and “Peacoat” colorways of the silhouette, not to mention a zipper-adorned version of the Old Skool. Now the “Bones” motif appears to be making a return for Fall/Winter 2016.
Teased by way of Blends’ own Fall/Winter 2016 editorial, the upcoming release appears to once again tap the Sk8-Hi as its canvas, this time calling upon Vault’s Decon LX iteration of the classic high-top. Opting for a predominately black colorway, the kicks couple a premium leather upper and waxed cotton laces with a matching rubber outsole, white rubber foxing and a black foxing stripe. Of course, the “Bones” version of the Jazz Stripe decorates each pair while white contrast stitching provides the finishing touches.
