Nike KD 8 "Hunt's Hill Sunrise"
Nike pays homage to KD’s brutal early-morning childhood workouts on Hunt’s Hill.
As a kid, Kevin Durant was told he was too skinny to become a professional basketball player. So he spent countless early morning hours sprinting up Hunt’s Hill, working with his coach Taras “Stink” Brown to build the mental strength and physical stamina that years later helped him capture the MVP crown.
Such is the inspiration for the latest offering from Durant and Nike Basketball as the two pay homage to the the corner of L Street and Balsamtree Drive near Durant’s childhood rec center and grandmother’s house. Aptly dubbed “Hunt’s Hill Sunrise,” the design sports an Infrared Flyweave upper, coupling the look with Volt-colored Dynamic Flywire, full-length articulated Zoom Air cushioning and black accents throughout. Finished with a marbled outsole, the “Hunt’s Hill Sunrise” edition of the KD 8 drops August 1 at nike.com and select retailers.
