Dior Homme 2016 Spring/Summer Collection
Kris Van Assche calls it “In all disorder, a secret order.”
Following a fall/winter showing that merged formal, black tie attire with certain English menswear staples, Dior Homme’s forthcoming 2016 spring/summer collection seems to draw more inspiration from recent streetwear trends with a heavy inclusion of camouflage and sportswear. Kris Van Assche kicked off his latest fashion week appearance with a selection of blue flannel suits paired with traditional camo accents, trainers, and a conspicuous use of zippers throughout. As the designer’s show notes stated, his seasonal grouping intended to show ”the playful subversion of the rules of masculine dress.” While models carried ceramic talismans, the clothing featured orange accents typically found on the lining of MA-1 jackets, all-over printed suits, argyle brashly paired with camo, and floral bombers. With his 2016 spring/summer collection the Belgian designer certainly maintained his penchant for orderly chaos.
