The Hundreds 2011 Summer Lookbook

California-based lifestyle brand The Hundreds presents us with a new lookbook for its forthcoming summer collection. Staying true to its roots, the images were shot on the sunny beaches of SoCal and depict a group of friends going surfing while wearing plaid shirts, graphic tees, striped tanks and boardshorts from the label. The pieces are expected to drop soon at select The Hundreds accounts.

    the hundreds ….tsk tsk tsk where to start. To be honest i think the hundreds make good in store shit. like the rswd tees are dope but no one can get them unless your in LA. other than that. im really disappointed in their new stuff. Theres no originality or meaning in the things they do now a days. Lets start thinking harder in whats true to los angeles, san fransisco, new york and now santa monica subculture and then the true hundreds fans will start to come back again. For now imma stick to my rswd fitted, rswd tee. and thats about it. I remember when i used to feel good about copping a hundreds tee. now i dont have the same effect. I grew up in LA and U guys were the epitome of urban subculture clothing. pls bring that back. coming from a true fan. PLS!!!!

    Here in Santa Barbara, CA, all the bros/surfers/jocks love The Hundreds. The more stores carry the brand (skate/surf/sneaker/sports), the more people get into the brand. Its not rocket science. Learn some shit.

    So what do all of you people hating want TH to do? Be NBHD, Visvim, WTaps? Just because they have a very broad consumer base doesn’t make them tacky. I’ll admit, this look book isn’t my favorite and a lot of douche bags out here in CA wear it but thats ok. I’m not knocking TH at all.

    The Hundreds obviously doesn’t care about what anybody on Hypebeast says. They do what they want. I don’t think that’s wack, I think thats good for their business. Getting accounts like Zumiez or even a spot like Pac Sun puts their tees on way more racks than sticking to smaller accounts. More stores = more money.

    I kind of see the hundreds as the next big overblown brand that will quickly fail. they really are going out of their way to sell the fuck out as quickly as possible. Sure it has some cool elements, but how long can they use this after they have commodified it so much that its losing all of its appeal at rapid fire pace. How much longer can this shit last before it officially becomes uncool? Well, the marketing model of the Hundreds makes it retarded to me. “uncool”, as in, no one with half a clue would wear this shit cause it might as well be on the racks at Target, “uncool”.

    Nice little rip off of the BEAR surfboards logo in the first image. Not hating this concept, just could have been executed a little better, the photography is a bit weak in places.
