SENSE: visvim 2011 Spring/Summer Collection

February 10, 2011Styleby Staff752 Views

SENSE magazine gives us a look at more of visvim’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection in their ongoing segment, “The Text in visvim.” visvim are no strangers to native styling, with many of their earlier items having subtle touches here and there. This season however, it has been thrust forward as the lead inspiration. Hiroki Nakamura has turned to suede, canvas, washed and unwashed denim alongside visvim’s ever growing catalog of unique materials to help him get across the feel of the collection. Earthy colors also featured with light blues and reds are used to bring some contrast to the items. The spring/summer collection is in stores now.

Hiroki clearly wants, with his native inspiration to bring man away from the urban and or technical look and closer to the land and its simple lifestyle that goes with it. Congratulations to his work. HN’s fresh interpretation of mixing fabrics is perhaps best represented in the hunting boot; the hunting denim jacket is a winner in downplaying the technical garment. Hiroki, keep up the work you enrich our lives!

Not bad, the new collection, but I still like nonnative as a brand better, their designs are better. Too bad Colette doesn’t carry them.

All of the garments are made in Japan and the footwear and Bags are made in China. The Room sprays, candles and subsection line of hygiene products are all made in France.

That light brown/turquise jacket is really good, I like the colours they’re using for it.

I really like this collection but I just wished companies stopped using native inspirations. However, Visvim is one of a few companies who can get away with it.
