Converse Chuck Taylor All Star “Padded Collar”

A new collection of Converse’s fabled Chuck Taylor All Star will hit Foot Locker mid next month as the legendary basketball sneaker gets an official revamping. The two part upper features a thick insulated collar area. In addition, a more aggressive outsole has been added. The two-part collection is part of Converse’s recent “Always On” campaign which focuses on the All Star’s storied musical history. The shoes will hit retailers on November 15th, 2009.

    well shit, i’v always held an unfair resentment toward cojnverse; ive refused to buy anything chuck, but they did something with the blacks, so minimalistic but completely bold, an always rockable shoe.

    this type of converse has been out for almost a year now. i remember seeing the black chuck taylors with padded collar at finish line about a year ago, although it had a white toe cap instead. but it did have a grain leather finish as pictured above.

    i do like the black grain leather toe cap treatment on this one, here are the only other changes i would make: more of an off-white foxing band, and take the black stripe off of the foxing.
