carhartt honeyee new beginning 1 honeyee Feature: Carhartt A New Beginning

Maintaining a very different brand image between North America and the rest of the world, Carhartt is seen as a more fashion forward choice rather than its rugged interpretations of the past. This marks an obvious departure from its roots as a workwear label. The American brand is slated to open its latest Japanese presence in Tokyo’s well-known Harajuku shopping area with a preview of what’s in store seen here. The store opens on Wednesday, April 29th.

carhartt is all of the place in euro. been up here doing a masters and the store’s pretty dope. changed my perception of the workwear to a street brand. they also carry stussy in their store too. but everywhere i’ve travelled people have been rockin it. belgium, london, spain, ireland, germany and paris!

It’s weird how you guys percieve Carhartt. Here in Europe it is a very fashionable brand, comparable to most other finer streetwear labels out there.

To make an example: A Carhartt beanie costs around $70 here in Denmark, whereas when I was in New York the price was approximately $8.

Where i live in england i’ve always thought Carhartt was more of a fashionable make, mainly like stylish and good coats and quite nice jeans. Not really workwear.

Still the best brand around, no doubt. Quality and Design.

Seems like Carhartt could very easily distribute this stuff in the US, but I think the fact that they’d be taking a huge risk that this stuff would not sell is why they don’t. Carhartt has established itself in North America as a workwear label and just that. Breaking out of that mold they created for themselves cannot be easy.
