Earlier today, Apple announced the launch of their lightest and thinnest MacBook Pro to date. One of its most talked about features is Apple’s longest lasting battery ever to be implemented in any of its notebooks along with a new 17″ screen and various upgrades under the hood. Its new and improved battery takes the cake though, with a life of up to 8 hours on a single charge and can be recharged up to 1000 times — compared with only 200 to 300 times for typical notebooks. Along with an impressive 700:1 contrast ratio and 60% greater color gamut from its predecessor, the new MacBook Pro has elevated its price tag to $2,799. Further information and video can be found at Apple.com.

it means that after a few hundred charges the battery will last less and less time and eventually you will have to send it to apple to get it replaced and if you dont have applecare anymore you will have to pay

1000 charges means a full charge and drain. When you have your notebook plugged in charging or just for use it isn’t draining. The problem with this is that for people who take their batteries out and plug into the wall at home to save their battery life can’t do this. People who like to carry two or three batteries can’t swap. What if there is a problem with your battery which often happens with macs. You want to send it in and wait around for it to be changed? BS.

The unibody is so nice on this, it’s lighter, new LED screen and they brought back the firewire port which they took off the 15″ macbooks.

They are charging $2799+ and they have not even added blu-ray to it? No removable battery? ugh.

Another pissy thing is for graphic designers you want a matte anti-glare screen which this 17″ offers but the new 15″ macbook that came out does not. It is glossy. So basically media specialists are stuck with this bs 17″ macbook. So pissed.

8 hours on a single charge and can be recharged up to 1000 times — compared with only 200 to 300 times for typical notebooks- wait does this mean my black mac book will eventually die?
