Kanye West – Pastelle Jacket Preview at the American Music Awards

Last night’s American Music Awards gave us a look into the best of what music had to offer in 2008. Although the show featured a flurry of presenters and performers, everyone’s eyes were set on what Mr. West had in store. With 808’s and Heartbreak set to release, Kanye West offered a glimpse into his upcoming clothing label Pastelle followed by a masterful performance of “Heartless”. Pastelle is still under wraps but the blue/red two-tone varsity jacket worn by Kanye last night is definitely a sign of good things to come. i think the coat is dope it reminds me of a power rangers track jacket i used to wear all the time when i was younger same colors close to the same font, the tail isn’t bad but i wouldn’t wear not my style love everything about the outfit damn and what kinda jeans are those so fresh

this man is ahead of all the rappers, singers, actors, etc in every aspect or direction of fashion.
..and now he’s starting his own, not just a celeb clothing line where starts just put there names on it, he’s actually taking time out to really design everything!
and his jacket does fit him, last time i checked having clothes that droop off you that make you bigger dont mean it fit!
now i’m not much of a kanye fan fashion wise, but i must say that i think the fox/racoon tail idea is dope. i never listen to what people say because most people who check this website only follow mainstream ideas anyways. whenever someone actually does something inventive and daring they start to hate… possibly because of their own fears and insecurities??? kudos to kanye for this one…

I don’t know about you guys, but I love that jacket, it kinda looks like a prototype or something though, because the logo does look a little cheap, the only thing I don’t like is the big logo on the back, the one on the front is enough. I like that he’s strongly inspired by the 80’s, thats completely my style. the rat tail? lol, he can get away with that, maybe not others, love those shades too, more than the shutters. btw….the 80’s called and they said GO FOR IT.

Not feeling the colorway or the logo font. Overall it just reminds me of kids primary colors crayons. It all looks very playschool. I just expected something a little better. In the bottom pic it looks like the text is all aligned wrong. It looks like its sloping down and if thats intentional it doesnt look right. Sorry kanye Im not sure if you should put that one into production. Looking forward to seeing more though. The glasses are dope. The racoon tail i cant say the same.
