With the economy in shambles and street wear hitting it’s pinnacle, few shops have been able to stay afloat not to mention sustain a quality fan base. Daves Quality Meat has broken that barrier becoming a mainstay in the New York City culture since their opening five years ago. Celebrating a very successful half decade of memories, DQM has already dropped a sneaker in celebration this year as well as threw a hell of an anniversary party so it was only fitting to give their shop a new look. Take a look at DQM’s make over after the jump.

It’s pretty much common knowledge dudes at DQM are some of the biggest aholes around. Unless you like kiss their ass, then forget about anything resembling customer service.

i never had a problem with anybody at DQM, they were cool with me too.. basically dont expect great service anywhere in newyork. all i care about it is if i want something then go get it and thats it.. i dont need them to give me small talk.

But on the real that one bitch from alife is mad whack. she started bitching at me for no reason and felt stupid cuz i end up buying a whole of money.

The thing is i dont care for customer service just dont think your better at me since you work at a clothing store, your just an retail employee at supreme or whatever getting paid 12 bucks an hour barely making rent. Fuuckkk outta here with that shit.. my wallet, my job, and my social status is way above you if you want to start to compare

man i can’t believe that you guys out there really are bummed out on this. these guys may not give you the treatment you are expecting should they bring out plates of cheese while you shop maybe a glass of wine or how about hot chocolate, but they deal with all sorts of people for about 8 maybe 9 hours a day. you can’t be on stage for that long and not expect for one may two people not to get a little brushed off. shit i work in retail and it’s not that dope sure the shop is cool and the owner Dave is super nice i’ve never had a problem with those guys at the shop and i’ve been there many times i live in Cali and they aren’t the worst shop in NYC so give the guys a break or maybe stand in there shoes first before you throw stones at them.

oh and the guy CeePee you can’t blame the guys at the shop that you for got to buy an SB back pack that’s your own fault dummy it’s not the guys in the shop they don’t read minds i can’t believe you said such a dumb thing. think about what you are saying before you type it on hypebeast you look like a fool. maybe your girl wanted to leave and you didn’t have the balls to be like “honey just chill” because she wears the pants and the cool sneakers and you have the dress on.

Ya i went there in may with my girlfriend and the dude was to busy playing with his iphone or blackberry cant remember which one. Anyways he was also rude to me cause i was interupting him and the next dude talk about the phone. I was with a girl and she was shopping for kicks as well and he kept giving attiude cause he had to get up from his chair to grab her another in her size. I was pissed of enough i for got to buy th NIkeSB backpack from there. I live in Toronto and wasnt to please with them. Ive been there twice before and never got that treatment cause it was the owner of the store. Alife peeps were nice and asked if i needed anything. Stussy store those dudes were nice… I heard bad things about Flightclub but man what a service i got.

I think the attitude of a sales associate is a direct representation of the shop owner and name. Hiring a prick speaks volume about their image and reputation and I wouldn’t want to support them anymore. I have yet to boycott the cool cats at DQM.

The store looks amazing…looks bigger…feels bigger..cant believe the difference it made..The new line looks real tight..it just keeps getting better every season…All the new Kicks DQM has dropped recently are hot..they are at the top of the game..cant wait to see what comes next..As far as you girls complaining how you get treated when you shop at the store ..man up ..your not shopping at Bloomingdale’s..nobody has to kiss your ass ..cause you walked in…I never had a problem with anybody there..they are always cool and helpful..

it doesn’t matter what you look like because all that matters in the end is the consumer.

DQM is one of the many reasons I miss NY. The wood looks great – I do agree though, kind of throws the whole theme out the window.

dudes at DQM are all good. quote ‘ye, quote 50. let them and watch the money pile up.

Yeah the bums that work ther act like they sell million dollar houses and get like 20% commission or something….you sell Sneakers, tees, hats and decks. GET A GRIP

I’ve never had a problem with anybody at the store.
The new look of the store looks good, but the meat hooks and other meat themed things were better. Why not rename the store now.

manners and being courteous go hand in hand with intelligence. You don’t exactly need even a high school diploma to stock shelves and color coordinate stuff.

i been there many times and never had a problem with anybody there
ya’ll sound like a bunch of bitches.

^^ agreed. I went with my bro (we are from CT) and the workers were tools. My bro asked for a shirt size and they looked at him like he was retarded. Place is whack.

it’s the same in most stores in nyc. the employees look right past you or don’t even look up and just talk to each other. i think its because im a guy though. i was in LA and went to the same stores that are in NY and everyone was extremely nice to me but i think its because i was with 2 girls at the time. usual in NY im solo or with my brother so maybe thats why theyre all dicks. if thats the case, its fine. id be a dick the same way. but if its just cause theyre dicks all the time, then thats not cool. yeah im talkin to you.

ins & outs of the store?

  22. Posted by: JDL on October 6, 2008 at 3:48 pm

DQM is hot, but all of their workers suck. Like you are not good enough to shop there. I traveled all the way from VA just to go to their shop on a day when their even wasn’t a drop. I was treated like less than a client because I didn’t know the in’s and out’s of the store. I’m sorry if you have to work their but if I’m buying something that mean either directly or indirectly I’m putting a little money in your pocket. So if you work their don’t be rude to the people who pay you because without people like me who buy stuff you wouldn’t work their.

not bad…miss the freezer display counter and the meat hooks tho.
