jeffstaple, the founder of the Staple Design empire, is giving a fresh look to the old sports apparel brand, Starter, that will be dubbed Starter Black Label. Starter is popular in the 90s for their bright and colorful varsity jackets. The Black Label collection will include t-shirts, caps, and bombers in all the NFL team colorways. With help from the Staple, it seems that Starter is coming back stronger than ever.

hey starter was a brand nike bought to cater to the walmart’s of the world…so thats where the brand is…but to make it even more appealing nike sold starter recently to the same company who bought artful dodger ( I believe.)

There was a time when Strater was all the rage. Now with Staple it might come back. As far as Caps go.. New Era is in.Besides, I’m betting that Starter will be big everywhere BUT the US. In a couple of years it will become accepted. Look at Levis.

I dun mean this is bad, but it doesn’t make any different from “Mr. staple design”. Because honestly this is nothing special.

Y’all can’t pick up on sarcasm too well? Dude was obviously joking with the ‘design wizard’ comment. No thought went into these pieces. C’mon now.

“Design Wizard”?!?!?!? Get off the rock man. This is garbage. What exactly did Staple do here? He used pre-existing color combos (aka team colors) on a pre-existing garment (aka the Starter jacket, same as it ever was) and they all just say Starter in block print?!?! If I’m gonna be a walking advertisement for a brand, the logo better look a lot better than that! Any 12-year-old with some sort of computer template program could have “designed” this stuff!

Jeff Staple is da MAN!! Love the pigeons both dunks and newbalance and these jackets look tough, bringing it back to the 90’s, YES!

design wizard…..this all just looks like Starter deadstock. extreme let down.

  23. Posted by: me on August 13, 2008 at 5:25 pm

These are lame… I never once had a single starter item that actually said “Starter” on it, they all had teams logo and then the little S star starter logo. Where are the team names?? Why do I want Starter on my chest? What am I starting? You 3 probably hump everything on here anyway
