Captured
by Eugene Kan, August 14, 2008
For New York’s Clayton Patterson, the man has been on the front lines of the the New York’s Lower East Side for the last 30 years capturing everything from the craziness of the 80s all the way to the recent gentrification taking place. Despite numerous run-ins with the law, Patterson’s interest for capturing the eclectic micro-society has not waned as all things unusual have inevitably become the focus of his documentation. Sharing some of his experiences on the movie screen, an upcoming documentary titled Captured is a rare look into the world of the LES with much footage coming from Patterson’s archives. Produced by Ben vs. Dan Productions with a help of Ben Solomon, Daniel Levin, Jenner Furst as well as Blowback Productions with Marc Levin as executive producter, the film is set for its debut on August 22nd at New York’s New Museum Theater. The film The trailer can be seen after the jump as well as an extensive interview from 2004.

THIS IS A FILM ABOUT THE GENIUS AND WORK OF CLAYTON PATTERSON, NOT BY HIM. IT IS A FILM MADE BY BEN.vs.DAN PRODUCTIONS, BEN SOLOMON, DANIEL LEVIN AND JENNER FURST, WITH BLOWBACK PRODUCTIONS AND MISTER UNTOUCHABLE DIRECTOR MARC LEVIN AS EXECUTIVE PRODUCER. THIS ISNT REALLY A COMMENT, CORRECT THAT. ALL RESPECT DUE TO CLAYTON THE KING BUT THIS A FILM ABOUT HIM, UTILIZING A LOT OF HIS WORK, NOT BY HIM ABOUT HIMSELF.
