Mark Gonzales x adidas Skateboarding Doley

July 31, 2008Uncategorizedby Eugene Kan28 Views

One of adidas’ most recent minimalistic offerings has undergone the skateboarding treatment courtesy of adidas’ marquee skate athlete, Mark Gonzales. When first seen, the Doley was nothing more then an ultra-simple thin canvas sneaker. With the help of Gonzales, the Doley returns once again with both laced and slip-on versions as it incorporates Gonzales’ artwork. The same minimalistic style is apparent which seems to be the Doley’s main selling point as of right now. Available starting August 2nd at styles in Japan but check your local adidas dealer for availability.

^^This above comment makes so little sense that I actually feel dumber for having read it. It’s one thing not to like the shoes, but to compair them to that of “Liberace”? That’s like compairing a screen door to a rose bush. They’re so obviously two different things (Let alone in a Gonzales/Liberace fashion sense) that I can’t even wrap my mind around how such a thing could be uttered. I really hope that above comment is a joke. Infact, it has to be. That all being said, the first shoe pictured is actually pretty nice.

Those are damn ugly. Mark Gonzales needs to get off the art superstar tip, and make some shoes that won’t get people beat up. Ie. shoes for us regular joes who don’t live in NYC and work and live among the everyday joes. His designs look like their haunted by the ghost of Liberace!!
