Fred again.. Reflects on 'ten days'
“ten songs about ten days,” with contributions from Sampha, The Japanese House and more.
After welcoming summer with his locked and loaded USB LP, Fred again.. has dropped off another studio album to close out the season. The producer’s newest project is entitled ten days, and consists of “ten songs about ten days” of Fred again..’s life.
“It’s ten songs about ten days. There have been a lot of biggg mad crazy moments in the last year but basically all of these are about really very small quiet intimate moments,” the producer said at the time of the album reveal.
He elaborated on this sentiment today in another Instagram post, writing: “Basically what happened is I fell in love and then a lot of glowy and very lifted up days started to happen. some time after everything changed and the days were sorta blurry and actually really just mostly numb. Numb is scary I’ve learned. then there were regretful days, and there there was now, which is actually like deep panic to be honest. All that stuff I learned about grief – like not being linear and stuff – it turns out that’s love too.”
On the personal project, the producer enlists the likes of Anderson Paak and CHIKA on standout single “places to be, ” as well as contributions and samples from Obongjayar, Jozzy, Jim Legxacy, Sampha, SOAK, Duskus, Four Tet, Joy Anonymous, Skrillex, Emmylou Harris, The Japanese House and Scott Hardkiss.
