Update: It’s been just a few days since Ronnie Fieg took to Instagram to tease his latest project with ASICS — revealing a pair of GEL KAYANO 12s that are now said to be GEL KAYANO 12.1s. Initially unveiling a silver and cream colorway, a second pair sporting a similar composition has now been showcased as well. Accented by bright blue and orange at its lining and midsole respectively, the newly-highlighted pair is ostensibly an homage to the New York Knicks. No release details regarding the project have been shared just yet, so stay tuned for updates as we await word from Fieg and ASICS. Original Story: Ronnie Fieg and ASICS just teamed up to commemorate the opening of KITH Seoul, crafting a special take on the GEL-LYTE III that pays homage to the city. The two have worked closely for many years now, presenting a wide variety of unique footwear for collectors to embrace. Just weeks after their most recent launch, Fieg has already teased what’s next from the duo — the revival of the GEL-KAYANO 12.
In our brief, single-image preview of the sneaker, a fair amount of detail is delivered. The sneaker begins with a white mesh base that is joined by cracked leather overlays in a bright silver. The shoe’s stripes look to sport a lighter hue whereas the heel overlay seems to don a darker chrome-like finish. In addition to the kicks themselves, Fieg’s Instagram post teaser has revealed a co-branded shoe box.
At the time of writing, neither ASICS nor Ronnie Fieg have shared any release details regarding this upcoming team-up on the GEL-KAYANO 12.
