Quavo and Lana Del Rey Preview Collaborative Track "Tough"
Following up last month’s initial teaser.
After first sharing footage of their collaboration last month, a longer clip of Quavo and Lana Del Rey‘s “Tough” has surfaced. As shared by both artists in a joint Instagram post, the first-ever collab from the seemingly unexpected partners might just establish them as the ultimate “duo we never knew we needed.”
In the new sample of the track, the pair harmonize over the hook, with Quavo dropping off ad-libs every so often.

“Tough like the scuff on a pair of old leather boots / Like the blue-collar, red-dirt attitude / Like a .38 made out of brass / Tough like the stuff in my grandpa’s glass (grandpa’s glass!) / Life’s gonna do what it does / Sure as the good lord’s up above / Cut like a diamond shining in the rough (Shining!).”
The first teaser of “Tough” – which landed May 9 – resembles an intro or interlude portion of the song, the two engaged in conversation over the twangy trap beat.
“I’ll show you around,” Quavo tells Del Rey. “Come take a ride with me. Whenever. Whenever you ready. Call on me.”
“I’ll give it back when I get there,” she replies.
“Alright, it’s a bet.”

No release date for “Tough” has been announced at the time of writing, though fans are vying for more.
“we got lana and quavo collab before gta 6,” one commenter wrote.
“country trap lana before gta 6 is wild,” another echoed.
Del Rey is no stranger to the hip-hop ether, however; a heavy, sometimes hidden influence on her sound, the songstress has also joined hands with the likes of Playboi Carti and A$AP Rocky on “Summer Bummer,” “Groupie Love” and, SoundCloud staple “Ridin’.”
