NewJeans Unveils Pharrell-Produced "Supernatural"
Complete with a retro visual.
After tapping Takashi Murakami for the previously released single “Right Now,” NewJeans linked up with Pharrell for the group’s newest and highly anticipated offering “Supernatural.”
Equipped with retro Neptunes-esque production, “Supernatural” is infused with a bouncy bassline and original lyrics from Pharrell as well.
The just-over three-minute track also comes accompanied by a nostalgic, early-aughts-inspired music video that explores aesthetics and themes that ring true to its track title. Check it out in the gallery above.
Paired with its instrumental iteration as well as “Right Now” and its instrumental version, the “Supernatural” “double-album single” has seen assists from a stacked array of talent rooted in the streetwear space. The project has also seen contributions from Hiroshi Fujiwara on the fashion front. In addition to Murakami’s accessory capsule, Fujiwara offered up a capsule of apparel to coincide with the EP’s release.
“Right Now”‘s visual and merch capsule – both courtesy of Murakami – surfaced last week. His interpretation of “Right Now” finds the ladies reimagined as The Powerpuff Girls across a range of striking accessories and an immersive visual.
