Exclusive Look at ASICS' Upcoming GEL-KAYANO 14 Collaboration With Zack Bia's Field Trip Recordings
Unveiled during Paris Fashion Week and set to release next month.
Zack Bia and Field Trip Recordings have collaborated with ASICS once again to reveal a new colorway. Hitting the GEL-KAYANO 14, the shoe is a vibrant contrast from the first collaboration, which was limited to only 200 pairs.
Speaking with Hypebeast, Bia explains to us that this time around, they wanted to choose a colorway that was different from the first one. The first collaboration, which was a friends and family only show, saw it arrive in a classic white and black colorway. This time, matching with the high energy summer vibes, the shoe gets hit with an electric green and blue colorway, sure to turn heads with every step. Spotlighting his record label, Bia said, “We are thrilled to bring this partnership with ASICS back through another collaborative GEL-KAYANO 14® shoe. aving the freedom to use the this shoe as our canvas is the most fun. we are beyond excited to bring a shoe that is not only bright for the summer but also extends beyond just our immediate friends and family but also supporters of the ASICS brand and our record label.”
Inspired by the 555 THz frequency of light that sees variations of the green color fall along the spectrum, the shoe’s green and blue reflects the electromagnetic wave frequency and mechanical vibrations. Quite literally the embodiment of high energy, the Field Trip Recordings x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 is set to release globally on July 14 at select retailers and online at ASICS for $170 USD.
