Description

Verbal is a Japanese hip-hop artist, producer and designer. Born in Tokyo, Verbal moved to the US and attended Boston College where he graduated with a degree in Business and Philosophy. Verbal and his soon-to-be fellow group member Taku started to record songs together during school holidays. This eventually led the duo dubbed “m-flo,” to sign with Avex entertainment in Japan. In 2005 Verbal was featured as one of the MC’s of Teriyaki Boyz, alongside Japanese artists WISE, NIGO, Ilmari and Ryo-Z, which allowed him to get in touch with some of the bigger names in the industry outside of Japan. His influence throughout Japan started to extended from the hiphop realm and into the fashion world, when him and his now-wife Yoon started up a joint jewellery venture AMBUSH in 2008. The brand is known for its eclectic styles and eye-catching motifs, with the likes of Kanye West, Pharrell, Kid Cudi and Big Sean all fans of the pieces. In 2011 Verbal launched his solo career with a project titled “VISIONAIR” featuring big names such as Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Jermaine Dupri and Swizz Beatz.
