Ryo Kashiwazaki is the founder and Creative Director of Japanese leather goods brand Hender Scheme. Having launched the brand in 2010, Kashiwazaki’s passion for finely crafted artisanal sneakers, lifestyle products and technical innovations is reflected in the Hender Scheme atelier, which boasts superior craftsmanship in its products. Heavily utilizing fine leathers as a signature of his designs, Kashiwazaki’s work is characterized by his incorporation of waterproof pig leather in his products. Kashiwazaki’s fundamental interest is in creating and he encourages others to do so as well. The Japanese designer has said in the past that he values passing on his enjoyment of creating is of greater significance than just spreading skills. Kashiwazaki currently lives in, and operates his brand from Tokyo, Japan.
