Rav Matharu is the British tailor and fashion designer behind luxury menswear brand Clothsurgeon.
Despite having a strong interest in fashion from a young age, Matharu initially sought a career in football and played professionally for Leeds United throughout his adolescence. However, by the age of 21, his love for football had dwindled and he returned to education to retrain in fashion.
Matharu graduated from Leeds College of Art and Design in 2006 with a first class degree in BA Fashion and Technology. He subsequently moved to London and started as Head Designer at London bespoke jacket designer brand House of Billiam. Here he honed his tailoring skills for three years, before going solo to fulfill his own creative visions.
In 2012, Matharu started Clothsurgeon, a luxury menswear brand offering both seasonal collections as well as a full bespoke service. Clothsurgeon combines Matharu’s love for street culture with his exemplary tailoring abilities, creating clean-cut, contemporary garments with a sportswear aesthetic.
With bespoke clients such as A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lemar and Nas, Clothsurgeon has forged its name as a cutting-edge label, without foregoing its Saville Row quality of tailoring.
